Wake County Job Opportunity: Environmental Consultant – Wastewater Repair Permitting

Wake County Onsite Water Protection is currently recruiting for an Environmental Consultant – Wastewater Repair Permitting. This position will work with our Wastewater Repair Permitting program to complete residents request to investigate septic system malfunctions, provide technical assistance and support, and issue system repair permits as needed. In addition, this position will support our wastewater Operation and Maintenance program and will collaborate with other groups within the department, as needed. Please see link below.

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field
• Three years of experience in environmental planning, inspections, or engineering
• NC Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS)
• Valid Driver’s License and “safe” driving record
• Equivalent education and experience are accepted

• Excellent oral and written communication skills to understand a customer perspective and provide services that meet expectations

• Ability to prioritize, manage and coordinate multiple assignments
• Results and quality oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work and perform duties in all types of weather, vegetative conditions and terrain

Work Schedule: Mon – Fri 8:30am – 5:15pm

Hiring Range: 75,109 – 105,157

Market Range: 75,108.00 – 135,202.00
