Spring Conference Awards- Dideriksen Award

Do you know of a worthy public health professional who has made significant contributions in the design, development, and implementation of programs that enhance and improve public health practice?

Nominate someone now for the RICHARD R. DIDERIKSEN PUBLIC HEALTH PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AWARD

Nominations are not limited to persons employed in the environmental health profession.

Nominations will be accepted for any health professional in the public health field who is employed by a local health department, district, or state agency of North Carolina, who has made significant contributions in the design, development, and implementation of programs that enhance and improve public health practice.

Criteria:
Demonstrates teaching ability that enhances and improves public health practice.
Demonstrates the ability to design and/or organize programs that enhance and improve public health practice.
Demonstrates the desire and ability to provide leadership for the improvement of public health practice.
Demonstrates creativity, innovation, and leadership within their agency and the public health field.
Promotes activities that have made an impact or significant influence on existing public health programs or services.
Contributes to public health at the local, state, and national level.
Contributes to continuing education at the local, state, and national level.
Demonstrates a positive image at the local, state, or national level by participation, leadership, or committee.
Engages in a positive working relationship with students, administrators, colleagues, and departments of local and state public health agencies.
Encourages personal development in the public health field.

The award will be presented at the 2026 Spring meeting of the NCEHSA at the Hampton Inn Aberdeen, NC Banquet—March 26th.
