Johnston County has an opening in our On-site Wastewater/Well Program for an Environmental Health Specialist available for you to fill and join an amazing and dedicated team of 9 REHS’s who work daily in our OSWW Program. This position will be responsible for performing soil evaluations, septic design, septic permitting, well permitting and inspections, water samples, migrant labor camps, and enforecement action as well as additional job duties per the current job description. The hiring range is $32.21-58.70 per hour. Trainees (REHS-Interns) will also be considered for the position, the starting rate is $60,902.40. Per salary plan, trainees will receive a 5% salary increase upon successful completion of Delegation of Authority in OSWW and eligible for a 6% salary increase upon full registration as a REHS.
