EHL- Registered Environmental Health Specialist Week

Good afternoon,

Governor Cooper has declared April 21-27, 2019, as Registered Environmental Health Specialist Week in North Carolina. There’s over 1,100 of us working around the clock inspecting restaurants, child care centers, public swimming pools, evaluating sites for on-site wastewater treatment, siting/inspecting wells, conducting lead-based paint inspections, responding to outbreaks, conducting trainings, dealing with the (daily) hot-button issues, and the list goes on and on….

Obviously, none of us do this for the recognition, but it’s certainly nice to have a pat on the back every once in a while. With that being said, I encourage public health leaders and others to reach out to your REHS staff and show them your appreciation.

Thanks for the work that you do every day to protect the public’s health and I hope you have a great day.

Thanks!

Larry
