Catawba County Public Health is recruiting for a motivated and customer-oriented individual to serve as an Environmental Health Specialist in a progressive work environment. In this role, you will promote sound public health practices through the provision of essential environmental health services and enforce applicable laws, rules, and regulations related to on-site wastewater systems and private water supplies. Applicants must demonstrate the ability to interact tactfully and effectively with the public and deliver services in a mobile, field-based setting. The ideal candidate should have the skills to work independently using the latest technologies and software, and be adaptable to process changes necessary to meet program goals. Environmental Health staff are field-based and equipped with advanced technology and tools to support their work. The anticipated start date is the first week of January 2026.
