Hours: 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday – Friday. Some weekend and after-hours work required.
Hiring Range: $43,530.67 – $62,000
General Description:
- Performs mandated inspections and permitting of food service facilities, lodging establishments, and public swimming pools.
- Performs mandated inspections of institutions, child care centers and residential care facilities
Education Requirement:
- Graduation from a four-year college or university with 30 semester hours of course work in the physical or biological sciences required.
Other Requirements:
- Registration as an Environmental Health Specialist by the North Carolina Board of Environmental Health Specialist Examiners.
- Preference given to candidates who have completed CIT (Centralized Intern Training) and have prior authorization in Food and Lodging from the State of North Carolina
