Due to a promotion, Buncombe County has an opening for an Environmental Health Specialist I available for you to fill and join an amazing and dedicated team of 16 REHS’s. This position requires the applicant to have graduated with a Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate degree in Environmental Health from a program accredited by the National Environmental Health Science and Protection Accreditation Council; or graduated with a Bachelor’s degree or postgraduate degree and earned a minimum of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in the physical, biological, natural, life, or health sciences; or Bachelor’s degree in public health.
This position will be responsible for performing routine inspections, visits, and critical violation visits in FLI, Pools, Tattoos, and Childcare and School sanitation as well as additional job duties listed on the posting at https://buncombecounty.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/en-US/Buncombe_County_Careers/details/Environmental-Health-Specialist-I–Food—Lodging_R05370. This position is hybrid which means you can work from home and do not have to report to an office daily.
