Buncombe County EHS III Job Opportunity FLI

Due to retirement, Buncombe County Environmental Health is hiring for an Environmental Health Specialist III in our Food and Lodging division. The purpose of this position is to perform routine inspections and visits for food and lodging facilities, swimming pools, institutions, childcare centers, schools, and tattoo artists. In addition, this position conducts plan review for new construction and remodeling projects focusing primarily on food service and lodging establishments as well as transitional permitting. This position may aid with conducting plan review for public swimming pools, tattoos and childcare centers and may conduct lead investigations.

In addition to the requirements of being a REHS, the candidate must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience under the Food, Lodging, and Institutions program in North Carolina. The hiring range for external applicants is $29.51-35.50 per hour.

This position is hybrid flex which means you are not required to report to an office daily, but you have shared office space if you need it.
