We are proud that Governor Stein has recognized our profession by proclaiming this week, September 21-27, 2025, as Registered Environmental Health Specialist Week. This is a meaningful opportunity to consider the vital work each of you does to ensure clean air, safe water, and food safety for communities across North Carolina. Your dedication as Environmental Health Specialists plays a critical role in protecting public health and maintaining safe environments statewide.
We are also excited as part of this week to share the 2024–2025 Environmental Health Section Annual Report, which highlights the collective accomplishments of the Section over the past year. This year’s report includes expanded data on food establishment educational visits, tattoo permits, and pool inspections. Please take a moment to review the report and reflect on the important work you’ve contributed to. If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to reach out to me.
Thank you again for the work you do every day to protect the people of North Carolina.
